Circling the island clockwise, you will begin at the natural arch, a rocky formation composed of two rock pillars, and continue to the superb White Grotto, famous for its chalk white formations. Before reaching the bay of Marina Piccola, we will go around the mysterious Faraglioni rocks, the three peaks that survived the coast erosion. This is where you can find the famous blue lizard of the Faraglioni, the only place to find this unique animal. It’s almost essential to stop at the fantastic Green Grotto for an exotic swim. Along the way you will be able to swim in the splendid water of the island. Continuing the tour north of the island, you’ll be able to see the well known Blue Grotto, which we can access small boats (extra cost), but only during the afternoon. Day 4: Amalfi Coast Boat Tour
- Cruise along the Sorrento and Amalfi coast An unforgettable cruise in the Gulf of Naples and Salerno to view the irregular coastline from Sorrento to Amalfi, which is a great example of how time has left its mark by eroding the rocks into creative formations. Beyond Punta Campanella the vistas become more extraordinary as we approach Baia di Ieranto, a place of unspoiled beauty where according to legend used to be inhabited by mermaids. The voyage then carries on to the next bay of Nerano. Nerano is a tiny sea village, famous for its crystalline water but also for its small and friendly inns on the sea where you can taste traditional seafood dishes of Sorrento. Continuing the voyage along the Amalfi Coast, we will take you to a small bay that can only be reached by sea. There, you will find “La Conca del Sogno,” one the most appreciated landings in the Gulf of Salerno. The coast that separates us from Positano is a miracle of nature: The continual change of the tides in the bay that can quickly change a swim into a walk on a deserted beach. Once Positano is behind us, we carry on to Amalfi, renowned for its dome in romano arabo-normano style buildings during the XII century and its paper mill. Sailing along the Amalfi coast. Along the way you will admire: the Island of Li Galli, Nerano, Praiano, Fiordo di Furore. There will be stops for swimming and snorkeling, and a relaxing break with snacks and drinks offered on board. Amalfi was the first of the four Italian maritime republics and has an important Mediterranean patrimony that can be seen through both its architecture and its crafts. Possible stop in Amalfi to visit the ancient Maritime Republic and/or in Positano to explore the “pearl” of the Amalfi Coast. Departure from Positano to Sorrento with the final limoncello tasting. Siena's most prosperous era pre-dated the Renaissance, so much of the city is in the older Gothic and Romanesque medieval styles. The Gothic and Romanesque Cathedral, built in stunning black and white marble with a magnificent interior, is a must-see. The city is also home to a historic religious center, as it was the birthplace of St. Catherine. The Sanctuary is devoted to her worship. The 700-year old university is still in operation, holding summer schools in Italian. Piazza del Campo, with its distinctive shell shape, is definitely one of the most striking pieces of architecture in the world. It represents the meeting-point of the three hills on which Siena was built. Here is where the Palio is run, a unique bareback horse race which dates back to Middle Ages. The whole city is caught up in the atmosphere, and it attracts visitors from all over the world. The piazza is overlooked by the giant Torre del Mangia, the tower of the Palazzo Pubblico. San Gimignano is located in the countryside between Siena and Florence. It was once an important stopping-off place for pilgrims on the Via Francigena, the most ancient route to and from Rome. The aristocratic families who controlled the city built some 72 tower-houses up to 50m high as symbols of their wealth and power. Only 14 have survived, but San Gimignano has maintained its feudal atmosphere and beautiful appearance. During the tour, you will stop off for a typical Tuscan lunch. Duration: 8 hours approximately
